Mr Turley lor the Union and Air Wild for the Company. Mr Turley asked that this Company be added to the Award, Mr Wild stated the South Westland service was one of peculiar-' circumstances, and objected to being joined in the award. He pointed out that the Company was filing ;run simply to give the settlers in South ..estland a means of obtaining supplies to their holdings. Last year there was a loss of £-319 on the service. He pointed out that the Gael was as large as it was possible to safely work the southern harbours, but was too small to orolitably work the larger centres. Mr Wild supplied a large number of statements in connection with the receipts and expenditure of the Company and traversed at length the position of the settlers in South Westland. Air. To Air Joyce: He had seen defendant as to a settlement, but the latter declined to discuss the matter, stating it was in the hands of Air Turley. The Court adjourned to ' consider their finding and returned in five minutes. His Honor staled that there was some little confusion at first as to whether lie Hid 10-t the sight of the eye, but Dr Baird’s evidence showed the eye was useless. The other matters in dispute were not material to the issue. The weekly earnings were taken as of a 48-hour week of £o 7s.
