The stock markets thus far have not reacted to the Conservative defeat to anything like the extent to which they were expected, thereby discomforting bearish speculators. The Stock Exchange remained unhurried even when the incomplete returns suggested a complete Labour victory, deals being temporarily held up rather than prices collapsing, owing to continual industrial disputes, rather than any election influence. WOOL PRICES DOWN. . (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, June 8. The wool position remains most satisfactory. The price generally, is still down, manufacturers only purchasing bare necessities. Apparently regarding Labour's election success as a favourable opportunity to leave Turkey, Trotsky telegraphed to Mr MacDonald “for urgent medical treatment and scientific work, 1 am asking the British Consul here for authority'to go to.
