PARIS, May 10. Ar: extraordinary golfing ie.s*. is Icing arranged for a hot of £4OO between Dr Robert E. Moore, of New York, an enthusiastic golfer, who frequently plays at Chantilly.' and Dr Feriiand Suarez de Mendoza, of Paris. Dr Moore has bet that lie can drive a golf ball from Paris to Berliij,. a distance of 674 miles, in 7,000 strokes. This feat would necessitate Dr Moore taking little more than 10 strokes to the mile, or making average drives of 170 yards, including all such obstacles as bills, villages and towns, which would have either to he negotiated with care or else skirted. There is no time limit set down, although Dr Moore states that he expects to accomplish the feat in about two weeks. He will ride between the shots in Dr do Mendoza's motor car. Should he lose his hall lie may use another. and if the hall falls in an inaccessible place lie can drop another without penalty.

Dr Moore, who is 65. is training daily for the attempt, which lie hopes to make in August.
