TARIFF WAR
EUROPE AND U.S.A. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). PARTS, June 7. . It scorns, a possibility that more than one (European country will engage in a tariff war against the United States. A congress representing 500 of the Chambers of Commerce in Franco has passed a resolution protesting against the United States increasing its tariff protection, and calling on the French Government to take counter measures. The Congress suggested that the various European nations- whose economic future is gravely menaced by the •new tariff's which would be an insuperable barrier to most goods should .take united defensive action. BRUSSELS, Juno 7. Tho Belgian newspapers urge a boycott of American goods in view ol the new U.S.A. tariff. They suggest the formation of an economic association under the auspices of the League of Nations- as a gesture of solidarity likely to impress Washington. ROME, June 7. The Italian trade press strongly condemns the new American tariffs.
