BARE LEGS
AN ENGLISH PROBLEM. .United Pross Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, June G. The “Daily News” says that the Empire’s future could not have been more closely .guarded than the discussion on the momentous question whether women should be permittee to play tennis at Wimbledon with their legs bare. In this connection, the Joint Committee of the Lawn Tennis Association and All England Club came to the wisest decision possible. In a statement issued, the committee says: “It has been suggested that the Championship Committee should express an opinion on the nature and extent of the clothing suitable for the competitors at Wimbledon. As the circumstances attendant upon the championship meeting have a quality of. their own, the Committee prefer to rely, as heretofore, on the good sense and good taste of the. players, whom the Committee wish to regard as far as possible as their invited‘guest's.’’
