SURPLUS WHEAT. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, June 5. The U.S.A. Department of Agriculture, in reviewing the wheat situation states that although it is discomiorting to the farmers, it is not hopeless. There is now evidence of a tendency for prices to rise, but heavy nVarketings of . new wheat and favourable crop reports may again temporarily depress prices. The review adds that there was Indicated an .increase in the world’s available wheat supply on the Ist. of May of 115 million bushels over, last season, and surplus in principal exporting countries exceeds by V 25 million- uushels the surplus of 1928.
