WEDDING BELLS

A very pretty and popular wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Ivumara, at 8 a.m. yesterday, by tlic Rev. Father Lordan, the parties to the contract being Miss Kathleen McGrath/ third daughter of Mr Thomas McGrath, of Dillmanstown, and Mr Chris. Tait, of Wellington. The bride, who was led to the altar by her father, was attired in a beautiful white crepe dc chine dress, beautifully trimmed with silk lace, and wore the orthodox wreath and veil, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of chrysanthemums and maidenhair •fern. She was attended by her sister. Madge, as bridesmaid. who wore a pretty blue crepe do cn.ne dress trimmed with silk lace and crinoline hat to tone, and carried a beautiful bouquet of pink chrysanthemums. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Stewart Ogilvic, of Rimu. The popularity ol the young couple was testified by the largp number present to witness the ceremony, after which Nuptial Mass was celebrated, and the party left the church amid showers of conletti and the hearty good wishes of the whole community. The party then adjourned to the residence ol the bride’s parents at Dillmanstown, where Father Lordan presided over a numerous assemblage and the usual wedding toasts were prepared and duly honoured at the wedding breakfast. ( ihe young couple were the recipients of many useful and valuable presents and hearty congratulations were extended to them on all sides, and the best wishes for their' future happiness and prosperity. They left by car for Greymouth to catch the overland express or Christchurch, en route for Wellington, their future home. In the evening the people of the district. were entertained at a. dance in the Memorial Hall by the bride’s father, in honour of the occasion, when there was a large attendance.
