FRENCH HUMOUR

HENRI BORN AND MARRIED. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this day at noon.) PARIS, June 6. Henri Reuesse, though only seventeen, wanted to be married, so his father took him to Hiliare, a Cambrai town hall to got the necessary papers. Ignoring the presence' of Henri, the Registrar assured the father: —‘But your son is not yet born.” The father insisted he knew better through having seen him daily and kept him for seventeen years, but the Registrar was adamant. The birth had never (been registered, so not being born, the youth, could not possibly be married. The father unavailingly gave the date and time of registration, so that there was nothing for it but to hunt up the doctor and nurse and have Henri officially born, only to be instantly married. _
