FOOTBALL.

WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The Committee met last evening at Greymoutli. in reply to the Union’s request as to information regarding P. Ryan playing lor Kokatahi, the Westland Sub-Union wrote stating Ryan’s request to he graded junior on April 22 up to the present had not been recommended. Referees’ sheets were enclosed of dates April 11,. 20, and 27, showing that no one under the nam© of Ryan had played for Kokatahi. ,

Mr Ryan stated that the United Club Were willing to pay the expenses of a member of the Kokatahi Club arid Ryan himself to appear before the Union to give evidence. Mr Ryan went on to say that had the Westland Sub-Union complied with the Union’s first request in the matter the trouble would have been cleared up. He thought that the Sub-Union were hiding something. A motion was parsed that a letter he written to the Kokatahi Club, through the Westland Sub-Union, asking ifor definite particulars in regard to Ryan; whether Ryan played for Kokatahi; the dates on winch he played, whether he played under an assumed name, arid also if lie did play when he was transferred to the -Exco'sior Club. ;.' ! f A motion was passed that no .rpclassi lieations be granted v after June'.'ll. Duller Rugby Union wrote cprifinnj n <r July 6tli as the date tor the-match between Briller and West Coast at Westport. They also asked that .a junior rep. team be sent ,up to play on the sairi'e date. , • S:’ : Mr O’Donnell stated that in his opinion, it would be a sound idea if Duller be written asking'them to send a Briller junior team to Greymoutli, while Coast senior reps were playing at Westport, and vice versa. He thought a good junior game would draw as good a gate as a senior game. "Mr Mclntosh asked whether the junior rep. team would comprise Grey players or from the West Coast as a whole.
