Evan Williams, aged 74, entered Fairfie'd police station and stated his wile had been dead in a bedroom at Ids Inane h..- el.v’en days. Williams said that after her death be washed and dressed the body, and put her in bed Ho bad lived in the bouse ever since, and every night slept in t!ie same room. He did not want to he Darted from her. He told the police that at midnight the previous night be had made a funeral pyre for her clothes and burnt them: This, lie said, was bis wife’s last wish. ,
