DOWNING—DOUGLAS,

A quiet but pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, 2!)tli May, at St. Paul’s Church, lt-css, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The Rev. Mr Osmers offiicafcd, and the contracting parties were Mr Samuel Downing, of Woolston, Christchurch', and Miss Eileen Ida Douglas, fourth daughter of Air and Mrs Tat Douglas, formerly of.AVaiiaha, (mvv of Ross). The Kriile entered the church 'on the arm'of her father wearing a dainty frock of wlnle satin with an overdress Of radium lace. She wore the orthodox wreath and veil and curried a beautiful bouquet of chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her two sisters. Lily and Lorna, as bridesmaids, the former wearing a peach coloured' satin frock trimmed with radium lace, and the latter wearing a frock of blue shot taffeta. Both wore bauds of tulle around their heads, with flowers to tone and carried beautiful bouquets of chrysanthemums leaves.
