(Received this dav : at 11.25. a.m.) RUGBY, ,May 26. , Queen Mary celebrated her 62nd. birthday quietly, at Windsor to-day.; There was a family gathering 'for' uncheon, and in the afternoon a pic■ie in the grounds of Frogmore at which the King was present with other members of the family.

The Queen replying to the lord Mayor of London’s congratulations says: n I. recall with heartfelt satisfaction the sympathy so warmly .extended to myself and children during the King’s illness. From the valley of the shadow the King had he.en restored to his people with religion of nations’ faith and hope. I look back with gratitude to the fervent prayers and earnest good wishes supporting me and those dear to me in the dark days of our anxiety.”
