ROTARY CONVENTION

The Rotary International Convention of representative clubs from 48 countries opens at Dallas on Monday. One of the chief topics of the debate on tho first day is the substitution of “Service above seif ” for the present motto “He profits most who serves best.” Tho report to lie read by the Secretary following Sutton’s annual address on Tuesday, will show that in sie past twelve months Rotary Clubs in 32 different countries have been organised, Greece, Egypt, Palestine, and Jugoslavia being the latest additions. The membership is now 142,500. An informal discussion in twelve special assemblies concerning the club and community service will be held on Wednesday, and international officers will bo nominated. Two candidates for international president have been thus far nominated, Eugene Newsome and Raymond Knaepple, of the United States.
The last two days will bo devoted to the balloting and hearing of several important addresses. WASHINGTON, May 25. Hennesesy defeated Ohtai 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.
