At Hie Supreme Court the claim by Laurence Topping Donaldson, headmaster of Motukaraka school for £SOO damages against Leonard Sidney I)airell, Chairman of the School Committee, lor alleged libel in a letter to the Education Board, was concluded tonight. The letter contained the statement Hint Donaldson had been, guilty or. improperly. interfering with Baii'rell’s two. daughters. The Jury found tliat the letter ..was defamatory and that the.- defendant was • actuated by malice, and .-.awarded the [plaintiff £-150 damages.
