The majority of important' firms represented believed that it had been well worth while, and the objects desired were .achieved. Many representatives informed him that orders for requirements disclosed thev •would ensure them working at, full capacity for several years. Remnant always insisted that diplomatic recognition should he conditional upon Russia undertaking both to compensate British nationals for claims prior to 1017, and cessation of hostt'C-propaganda; ■ The delegation obtained assurances in bill'll respects, which he' regarded as satisfactory.
