A Cleveland message states the decomposition of X-ray funs, creating a gas, which either exploded by itself, or was easily inflammable, was responsible for the clinic disaster, according to a- Government expert testimony. before a coroner’s jury. The clinic contained a four foot pipe heating tunnel running entirely round the building. Gas from the decomposition of the X-ray films finally filled this pipe and a spark or explosion of some kind in the basement forced the gas back through the tunnel, and a series of explosions followed up through every heating pipe through the whole building, permeating each room, hallway and passage with a poison gas more deadly than any used :in the War.
