A conference of secretaries and executive officers oil' Electric Power Boards and supply authorities opened to-day, Dlr G. Brown, Wairarapn, presiding.

A welcome to the delegates was extended by the Dlayor and addresses were also given by Dl.r Nash, DI.P. (President of the Boards and Authorities Association), Dlr lloldsWorth (Chairman of Auckland Board), and lion. E. A. Ransom.

In submitting his report, the Chairman said very few boards had reached the stage when a general reduction of charges eoukl he made, hut a majority were now showing a profit and most of the balance were well established and showing a decided improvement each yea r.
