ARAHURA STOCK SALE. AV. JEFFRIES AND CO.’S REPORT. Yesterday's fixture at these yards attracted 4 the usual attendance of buyers. There was a total entry of 97 head of cattle in the fat pens, 25 sheep, 0 wenner pigs, 24 fat sheep, and 12 dairy cows. The yarding was remarkable for the large number of cows sent forward f6r which there was limited demand. The prime pens sold well, hut .medium and unfinished lots met with a sticky sale. On the other hand good steer beef of which- there was only a small supply sold well up to prices obtaining at the metropolitan yards. Prime ox ranged- from 42s fid to 47s (id per hundred. Cow and heifer beef covered a wide range according to quality from 28s to 3(is. Runners and vealers were in keen demand. Jeffries and Co. sold as follows: — For 1). Bradley (5 weaner pigs at 9s. For AV. Olderog, l vealer at £3 15s, 3 at £3 9s, 1 at £3 4s, 1 runner at £1 Is, 1 at £3 10s, 1 at £5 ss, 2 heifers at £(> 17s (id, 1 bullock at £lO ss, 2 cows at £(i. For P. Olsen 2 steers at £lO, 2 at £9 2s (id, 2 at £9. For R. Wilson, 1 cow at £7 17s (id. For 0. AlcGnigan 1 cow at £9 12s (id. 1 at £7, For AV. Graham, 3 bullocks at £l2 12s (id, 1 at £ll 7s (UK 1 heifer at £B, 1 cow at £9 7s (id, 2 at £8 15s, 2 at £7 17s (id, 2 cows at £5 15s, 3 runners at £■» 15s. At a meeting of the butchers hold during the progress of the sale yesterday it Avns decided that the next sale which falls on the King’s Birthdnv, 3rd June, will take place as usual but will commence at 9 a.m. sharp.
