FOR. CLOSER- SETTLEMENT. Since the Liberal Government announced that the main plank in their platform was closer land settlement, many offers of properties have been made to Cabinet. The latest is Mr F. Kncobonc’s farm of 800 acres at Orini, situated about six miles from Taupiri township, on the Aueklahd-Frankton railway. About seven-eighths of the area is in grass, and one paddock of 28 acres has accommodated 80 cows nightly since August last. The price asked is £35 l»cr acre.
