MAY FAIR
REMARKABLE SCENES AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL, May 19. The May Fair was bought to a conclusion yesterday in beautiful weather. The sun came through strongly all day, and the night was fine and dear, with a slight nip in the air. Hundreds of children were to be seen / in the afternoon, in fancy costume, at the pets paradeand in the; evening the streets resembled Venice, a huge crowd in fancy dress parading the streets. It was a wonderful finish to the four clays’ gala. A signi- , fica.nt feature was the astonished delight experienced at the wonders of the May Fair by the visitors who came ] by s'-y'al twin from. Dunedin and other par'.s of Otago.
