Ltd. explains itself: Dear Sir—The Association awards, a trophy each year to the hiitter-makc. in an associated factory whose average grade is the highest in the Smith Island for the period from Ist. O.ctobei to 30th. April. In order to qualify, however, the foil.wing comlii.ieiis have to he complied with, viz: “All competitors must send in for grading not less than 30 per cunt, of the monthly outputs for October and April, and not less than o() per cent, of the output of each of the other months from November to, Alareli inclusive.” According to particulars supplied to as by the Government graders, your average grade— I)I.MCI—was the highest f.-r the period ended 30th. April last, and you are accordingly the winner of the trophy for 1928-29. The trophy is a silver cup of the value of £25 which has to lie won three times, not necessarily in succession, before it becomes the property of the winner. It is retained in the Association's office until finally won. A gold medal is presented each year to tlie winner and the presentation is: usually made at the Association’s Annual' Conference which is to he hold this year on 6th. Juno.
