EVERYBODYS PICTURES. KEN MAYNARD TO-NIGHT. “The Canyon of Adventure,” a title tlita suggests all of the fast action and romance, as well as the daring stunts for which Ken Maynard is noted, is scheduled for the Princess Theatre to-. night. Ken’s ability as a trick rider j is now known throughout the world, | wherever motion pictures are shown and in such a vehicle as “ 'The Canyon of Adventure,” which is of.the type of; outdoor picture to win the plaudits of every follower of action pictures, he is steadily increasing that reputation. Tarran, the wonder-horse, who also has a following all his own, is seen in several new and novel stunts taught by Maynard for this feature. “The Canyon of Adventure,” was written especially for Ken by Alarion Jackson and contains real authentic historical fact, as well as the typical fast-moving and active picture material. The story is of early California during the days of Spanish rule, just prior to its entry into the Union. This was the time when the huge land grants of tho grandees were under the eyes of tho gringo land grabbers. According to authentic history the U.S. government was trying to protect these land grants by having them registered. Maynard plays tho role of a daring and dashing land agent who, on behalf ol the government, endeavours to save these lands for original grant holders. The story has been worked into one of the most entertaining and fast moving ol all the Maynard Westerns. The usual supports will also be shown to-night (Friday), including further chapters of the great circus serial, “ The Trail of the Tiger.”
