EFFECTS OF JUDGMENT. By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 16. An important statement concerning the effect of the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Cathedral square case was made by Mr D.. JS.. Wanklyn (solicitor for George Gould, the actual plajntiff in the action. Mr Wanklyn stated that the mandatory order of the court expressly excluded any reference to the existing underground conveniences and tramway tracks on Godley statue block reserve, which will not have to ho removed. The decision of the Court makes it clear that the City Council cannot proceed with the scheme for the erection Qif a new tramway shelter and new conveniences.
