QUEST FOR RACING PERMITS. By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) El/riIAM, May 13. Mr de la Perollc, Minister of Internal Affairs, called at Eltham in the course of a round tho mountain trip, after visiting the Ojmmike racing course at Piliama and receiving a deputation requesting an extra permit. The Minister was met by the Mayor, Mr Bridger, and a number of citizens, and was extended a welcome. A deputation from Eltham Racing Club, at a private meeting, placed before Mr de la l’erollo a request for a permit for a tolalisator meeting and promised to supply full particulars regarding the property and position of tlie Club. Mr de la Perelic said lie would ,bc pjeased to receive details and to forward a reply. VICTORIAN DISQUALIFICATIONS. MELBOURNE, May 13. The V.R..C. Stipendiary Stewards have disqualified for twelve months, the racehorse- Chariot, the jockey AV. Scanlan and the trainer-owner, W. Foul sham, for improper conduct in regard to Chariot’s running in the Sandown Park Handicap on Saturday.
