MINISTER VISITING CLUBS. There are two totnlisator permits which have not been permanently allotted. For the last racing year these permits were temporarily given to the Whangarei Racing Club and the Waver ley Racing Club, and for the nextracing year the permits have to be again loaned. All clubs in both inlands are after the permits, and the Minister of Internal Aifiairs, the Hon. I’. A. dc la Perrelle, is having an anxious time in receiving deputations ifjoin clubs considering themselves entitled to an extra day’s racing. Speaking at Waipawa the Minister said that lie had invitations from north south, east and west lor him to visit the different clubs’ courses and to hear the representations of the clubs. “Racing,” he said, “is only part of the ramifications of the Department of Internal Affairs ,and as in the case of all other problems in the different avenues of the Department, 1 want to meet those concerned. I can quite sec that it is going, to he a big job to settle the temporary allocation of the floating permits, but meeting the clubs and seeing their courses and what they provide for the public is going to help me a good deal.
