SLIPS CLEARED
ROAD OPEN TO ARTHUR,>S PASS. The Public Works Department has cleared all the slips between Arthur’s Pass and . the Bealev Hotel. It is now possible for cars to run from Arthur’s Pass to Christchurch. Latest reports state that the ford over the Wuinuikariri is very low and that cars can get through without being towed. In the township of Arthur’s Pas'/ there is very little evidence of the earthquake. The chimneys have all been completed and residents are l ack in their homes as usual.
