the fox glacier. With so lavish a hand has Providence distributed a wealth of scenic attractions throughout New Zealand that in South Westland, when He fashioned that vast blazing jewel in ihe mountain side, the 1* ranz Josel Glacier, He created another to be a rival unto it—the Fox Glacier, which, while corresponding in many respects to its peerless brother, has special qualities and beauties of its own. Unfortunately, it is not nearly so well .known. ' for which the Government ami people of New Zealand must be blamed, and it is only now, after 80 years of settlement in New Zealand, that it is coming into its own. The Fox Glacier is. in truth, a jewel which all New Zealanders should make it heir ambition to see. Having seen it one can only express astonishment that, it has not been more developed. —E. E. Muir.
