POLICE RAID
■ON TOBACCONIST SHOP. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, May 9. The -premises of a well-known Invercargill tobacconist, in Esk Street, were raided to-day, and the proprietor arrested. At noon, police officers entered the shop of Arthur Butt, who was arrested on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. • Later he appeared in the Police Court and was remanded until Saturday. He was released on bail, his own surety of £SO and one surety of £SO.
