FINED FOR INTRUSION. (By Telegraph—Press Association). .CHRISTCHURCH, May 9. In the Alagistrate’s Court to-dav, Victoria Frances A lay Lane was charged with wilfully causing a disturbance in AAYxdston School. The prosecution was a private one, tiie complainant being Gwendoline Bowring, a teacher in tho school. It was alleged that when Aliss Bowring was teaching Class One at AVooLston School, Airs Lane rushed into the room and said, “I’ll have you up t You hit my girl over the head with a packet of books!” Airs Lane also alleged that Aliss Bowring had thrown a strap at her child. Aliss Bowring remonstrated with the intruder for speaking in such a manner to her in the classroom and denied having struck the child or having thrown, a strap. Aliss Bowring took Mrs Lane to the Headmaster, hut Airs Lane returned to the classroom, and she was heard questioning the children. Slie also was heard to call Aliss Bowring “a dirty liar.” It was stated m evidence that Airs Lane had apologised to Aliss Bowri.ng for her conduct, but the Teachers’ In stitut-e wished Aliss Bowring to prosecute, in order to -stop such intrusions and disturbances in schools. The defendant, Airs Lane, denied that she bad created a disturbance oi used the words complained of.
