EVERYBODYS PICTURES. JACK HOLT IN “THE TIGRESS” TO-NIGHT. It’s it safe bet that you’ll like “The Tigress.” There is something different about this Columbia-Master Picture which will be shown at the Princess Theatre to-night. The exceptional cast is headed by Jack Holt, > Dorothy Revier, Frank Leigh, Philippe de Lacy, Howard Truesdell, and Frank Nelson, directed by George B. Sictz. From a photographic viewpoint the production is excellent, the atmospheric backgrounds•of gypsy camp, Spanish mountains and rambling old castles afford ample opportunity for artistic shots of natural beauty. The story is given an unusual twist and runs the gamut of emotions from sweet idyllic love passages to passionate conflict with savage instinct. Mona, “'lhe Tigress,” in native costume and tribal dances is intriguing, bewitching, enchanting. As the wild creature thirsting for vengeance she is subtle, crafty and cunning, a daring horsewoman and an adept with the knife. Jack Holt is a decided contrast to this creature of the forests in the role ol the Earl of Eddington. At the castle rich scenes of luxurious living stand out boldly against the gypsy camp and mountain peaks. Philippe de Lacy gives a remarkable performance as the deaf and dumb boy, whose sign language none save Mona can understand. Frank •Leigh is excellent as Pietro, the Bold. The fight in the wagon, with the runaway horses racing madly over a mountain road is skilfully handled and gives Holt, Leigh and Dorothy Revier the opportunity to provide a thrill which has the audience on the edge of the seats. A topical and comedy will also be included in to-night’s display. On Friday next “ The Grip of the Yukon,” and on Saturday next “California or Bust.”
