MONDAY, MAY 6th. ; The Committeo met at the Technical School at 7 p.m. Present:—Messrs A. C. Armstrong (Chairman), Swoney, Breeze, Richards, Chestorman,. Shannon, Redder, Conning and Mrs Wilson! The minutes were confirmed and correspondence outward approved. ; '"MOTION OF SYMPATHY. The Chairman referred to the recent sudden death of Mr Thomas Irvine, a former Rector of the school, and moved a vote of condolence with Mrs irvinc and family, the Secretary to convoy same by letter. Carried in silence, members standing. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From Education Board, notifying reappointment of Miss Duff; granting £lO to meet outstanding accounts. — Received with thanks. From same agreeing to Miss Brown '•'uHhining as temporary assistant. — Received. From Hon. TI. Atmore, notifying he would.visit the school on Wednesday morning.—Received. r lhe Chairman, Messrs Richards and Conning were deputed to wait on the minister. Accounts as scheduled were passed for payment. Tho matter of a sewing instructress was left to the- Rector and Secretary to arrange. Tho Rector reported tho roll number was—Primary 310 (average attendance 289) and secondary 105 (average attendance 101) ; asking for a few requirements. —Received. It was resolved to thank the Westland Sub-Union for granting school representation on the Executive. A number of small requirements wero authorised. Messrs Richards and Swoney were appointed visitors for the month. The meeting terminated at 8 p.m.
