V . : FIRST PRIZE ±1125,000. „ LEGALLY QUESTIONED (United Press Association.—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyr igh t.) • LONDON, May 5. The Stock Exchange Derby sweep has closed with the subscriptions totalling £1,000,000. There were 339 entries for the race, and there will he tw.<> prizes' for every entry. The holders of the two tickets on ■the • first horse will receive £125,000 each, the holders of. the two on the secortd horse £65,000 each, the holders of the two on the third £32,500 each; and tho holders of the two on the fourth £17,500- each. The holders of-the tickets on the remaining 335 entries will each receive £SOO. There will also be 340 consolation prizes' of £250 each, the prize money thus • totalling £900,000, the remaining £IOO,OOO going to charities. Meanwhile, Sir Robert Thomas (Liberal for Englesey) has given notice that he proposes raising the question of the legality of sweeps, in the House of Commons.
