I am a native of the Ruling and all my interests are centred there. Asking your support on polling day, Bth. Alav. I am etc., — Yours obediently, M. KEENAN. WESTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF CENTRAL RIDING. Ladies and Gentlemen: [TAVT.NG acceded to the request of a number of friends to offer myself as a candidate for a seat on the County Council, I now appeal to you for your kind interest and support at next Wednesday’s poll. 1 have lived in the Riding all my life, and have been interested in mining, milling and farming. I know the district thoroughly and have always taken part in .everything that has been .for the advancement of the district. I now offer my services as a County Councillor, and trust to have your fullest support on polling day. Yours obediently, THOS. P. O’NEIL. WESTLAND COUNTY ELECTION.

TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN RIDING. Ladies and Gentlemen: rAVING served my country in the late war, and since having settled in your midst, 1 now offer ,my services as your representative on’ the "Westland County Council. In doing so I stand purely in the interest of the ratepayers, with a free hand, having no interest 'in any other business or undertaking. l support a policy of strictest economy combined with efficiency, and at all times keeping the expenditure within the revenue. With the present increased revenue through different sources and Government grants on secondary roads, combined with decreased responsibility since the inception of the Main Highways Hoard, it should have been an easy matter to put the County finanee on a sound basis, and at the same time to give the bye-roads tile attention the ratepayers and residents rightly expected. To create a credit at the expense of the roads is, in my opinion, a wrong policy which will prove costly in the near future. Much could be done to improve the present conditions by a more efficient organisation of work and more money spent in road repairs and less on administration, aided by a more active personal interest in the district bv Councillors. I favour a more co-operative spirit I between Council and ratepayers. By creating goodwill between the two, I much assistance could lie gained, also ! that every ratepayer be accorded just j consideration of any matter brought i before the Council. i It is the general opinion through--out the district that a change is need--led to moot the present needs o! the j County. If favoured with your con- ; fideuce at the polls on Wednesday next, 1 1 shall at all times no my best for j the benefit and advancement of Wostand and this Riding in particular, and at all times give my personal interest and support in any business you may - have with the Council. Yours faithfully, W. T. N. BOND.

As a farmer in the district and a large ratepayer, my interests arc largely identical with your own. The very satisfactory financial state of the Council’s affairs as demonstrated by the recent.' Treasurer’s report is evidence that the revenue has been economically and judiciously expended in the past and reflects credit upon the Council members and staff: a continuation of whose policy would surely be tn our mutual benefit. if elected you can rest assured I will do my b°st in tbe interest of you—the ratepayers —and I'w the general advancement ol the district.
