FOUR MEN HURT

KNOCKED OFF LORRY. ONE SUCCUMBS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 1. While unloading steam heaters at the railway workshops at Lower Hutt, 1 about 8.30* o’clock this morning, four mon wore injured through one of the heaters being knocked from a . motor lorry-, and falling upon them. It was ascertained that .a lorry load of steam heaters from Messrs A. and T. Burt’s warehouse had drawn up in the boiler, makers’ shop alongside a. railway line. "\\Tiile the lorry was waiting to be unloaded, a truck came along the line, and one of the iiprigbts, which was a few inches' out of plumljr. struck fa' heater, and caused it to fall from the lorry. The falling heater struck four mm, injuring them all. Those injured are;— Henry Cooper, an employee of the railway workshops, aged 38, who resided at 6. Aloir Strc’it, Wellington. Joseph Siiunders'. an employee of Messrs A. and T. Burt, aged 52, who resides at 494, Adelaide R-oad, Wellington. Harold Moon, an employee of Messrs A. and T. Burt, aged 47, who resides at 390, The Parade, Island Bay. Hugh Patrick Ingles, an employee of Messrs A. and T. Burt, who resides at 25, Magoribanks Street, Wellington. The injured men were conveyed to the hospital by the City Ambulance, It was found that Cooper had been severely crushed and lie succumbed to > his injuries, which consisted of head wounds and concussion, at 2.30 in the afternoon. Saunders and Moon were also severely injured, but Ingles escaped more lightly. . They are all suffering from head injuries.
