LOST AVIATORS
THE LAND PARTY
NO NEWS VET
(Australian Press Association)
(Received this day at 8.30. a.m.) SYDNEY, May 1.
A message from Wave Hill states there is no news yet from the land party at me Kookaburra, but as the party have been scon returning to Wave Hill it assumed Hitchcock’s body has been found. Eaton is apparently unable to communicate with the aeroplanes concerning the land •party’s discoveries owing to the unsiiiial iiity of the country for aeroplanes to land. It is further assumed it has been found impossible to fly Anderson’s plane back to civilisation as was Eaton’s intenton. Jt is considered unlikely t.’-erc will he any news of the land party’s discoveries until they reach Wave Hill in a few days time, unless in the meantime a suitable landing place is located for Ryan’s plane to come down to intercept the ground party.
