General Month has been appointed a Companion of Honour bv the King. When General Month read a letter inhuming him of the honour he turned to his wife and said; “1 am pleased because 1 see you are pleased, but we must: not think overmuch of earthly honours. This is an honour, not for myself, but for tho Army. I only wish I were in better condition to make use of it.”

The “ Daily News ” says Larwood, referring to Australian harraekers, at a presentation banquet, said: ‘‘They did certainly upset me a little. Some would do anything if they knew it woidd upset the opposition.”
APPEAL REFUSED. CAPETOWN. April 29. The Appellate Court refused leave of appeal to the farmer sentenced t,o lashes and imprisonment for fatally beating a native.
SCENE IN COMMONS
LONDON. April 30.
There was a scene in the Commons during a debate wholly unconnected with India. A white-haired well-dress-ed man in the gallery leapt to his feet and scattered in the chamber handfuls of blue leaflets, shouting "‘ Down with the Simon Commission.” lie was led out without resistance.
As soon as he had left, a woman sitting near rose and shouted: ‘‘Down with persecutions; down with the Government that murders Indian workers.”
While being led out she shouted: “ Down with torturers and murderers,” and sang the Red Hag. The interrupters, who admitted they were Communists, were detained till the House rose.
