“ ‘Baby Austin’ cars have to he sold at a price of about £IOO, and 100,000 will be turned out yearly if the project is to be a success in the United States,” said Sir Herliert Austin on his return to London from a visit to America. “We must turn out a car which is far more economical than any other in that country.” Sir Herbert said an American contract will be signed within a lew days for the manufacture of Austin sevens for the American' and Canadian markets.
