DROWNING FATALITY

Yesterday afternoon a drowning fat'lity occurred at Lake Mud gee, near fvawhnka, a Dalmatian named Tony Martich, alwnt 28 years of age. being the victim. The deceased was a bushman employed by Messrs J. C. Malikov and Coy., at Kawhaka. It appears that, deceased and a companion, Jack Saritch, went out shooting on the shores of Lake Mudgee, used at one time as a dam for mining purposes. \fter shooting a duck the deceased entered the water to secure it. but became entangled in the weeds and rushes and sank and was drowned. His companion went to his assistance but also became entangled in the weeds and reached the shore with difficulty. The deceased was unmarried.

Dragging proceedings are taking place to recover the body.

The body was recovered this morning
