Nominations closed at noon to-day ior the various County elections. The following were received:

Ihe poll in respect to the above takes place on Wednesday, May Bth. Mr Bond is the new aspirant, Messrs Ward and Murdoch being the sitting members.

CENTRAL RIDING. (Three Members Required.)

Bauoke. Herman A. ('liesterman, Thomas R Keenan, Michael.

O’Neil. Thomas P Wells, Elisha A.

Messrs Chesterman and Wells are the sitting members; the third representative. Air Morel, having left the district is not seeking re-election. Alcssrs Bauoke and Keenan are excouncillors. Mr O’NeW is a new aspirant. The poll will he taken on Wednesday week.

SOUTHERN RIDING. (Four Members Required.)

Donovan, James. Chinn, William H. Duff, Thomas AV. Houston. Malcolm H. Jeffries, William. Afclntosh, John James

Scarle. William. ■.Messrs Donovan,. Chinn, Jeffries and Searle are the sitting members.. Air Duff is an ex-councillor and was formerly a representative of the Northern Riding. Alessrs Mclntosh and Houston are new aspirants for County honours. AVednesday, May Bth will ibe polling day.

Wells, Elisha A. Mr A. R. Eleoek replaces Air Morel who has left the district. A poll will not he necessary.

Bruce, Thomas AVanless. Butler, William J. Chesterman, Thomas It. .. Murdoch, James A. Selby, Frederick W. Stuart, David P. Ward, Bernard. Wells, 'Elisha A. AVhiley, Robert. Messrs Selby and Stuart .replace Alessrs Perharn and Morel who have left the district. A poll is unnecessary.

HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD,

Air Stuart replaces. Air Wells’ who did not seek re-election having held the seat temporarily only. There will not he a poll in this instance.

POLLING DAY. AYednesdav, May Bth. will, he polling day for the three Ridings of the County Council. The papers for the Southern Riding are being despatched immediately, and those for the Northern and Central Ridings will he distributed next week. Polling hours on Wednesday week will he 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For three representatives of the County Council required for the Grey Electric Power Board, tho following five nominations have been received: Alossrs Henry George Clayton, AVillinm Clayton, James ALilcare, Arthur Robinson and Patrick Ryder. Three representatives are required for the Grey Hospital Board, and the following will go to tho ballot: Messrs Henry George Cartel, John William Hannan, James Mulcare and Arthur Robinson.
