(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, April 20
An early announcement is expected to ho .made l»y the .Minister of Transport. Afr Voiteh, in regard to the personnel of the Transport Ad.isory Council. !t- is under to d that the Minister is now awaiting the acceptance of two gentlemen who have been nominated to act as members of the Council. Air Voiteh stated that the Hoard will be called . together immediately the personnel is finalised.
“The Board.” said the Afinister, “will he asked to. settle down to serious business right away. There is a lot of work ready for it, and I regard as its first task the revision of the Motor Regulations and the simplification of them wherever possible. What I hope ultimately to achieve is such a set of regulations that once a motorist has taken the trouble to understand them, be will be able to go right through New Zealand without breaking the law; because it will lie uniform and he will easily understand what ho has to do to comply with the regulations for his own safety, as well as that of other traffic, including the pedestrian. T am not so foolish ns to believe that the ideal will he realised immediately, hut if we beep our attention constantly on it, we can at least hope for continual improvement of all matters connected with .motor transport.”
