ARRIVES AT HONG KONG

British warships thundered a salute ts Prince Henry stepped ashore at 'Tong Kong tins morning and was- received bv tbe Governor. The streets wen* lined with soldiers ml? sailors.

A feature of the proceedings was the magnificent four-fold Chinese screen exquisitely carved and embroidered, six feet high, given by the Chinese community, whose address accompanying it was most quaint. An extract is as 'follows: “ People old and young make manifest their delight. They run bitTTer and tTiitlier in eager jo.v at seeing your Royal person. From the depths of their hearts they pay tribute and loyalty to his Majesty the King.” The Prince is staying for three days and then proceeding to Japan in H.M.S. Suffolk.
