Auckland, April 2.5. fatal injuries were sustained by a motor cyclist named Frank K.''Waller, aged 22, when his machine struck a straying lmrse on the Great South Dead, near Win, about two o’clock flu’s morning.

The horse had three legs broken and had to lie destroyed. It is thought that the animal had escaped from its paddock as the result of mushroom gatherers leaving a gate open.
FARMED KILLED BV CAR, HAMILTON, April 2d
M ill in m Andrew Wilson, -SS, farmer of Teuku, was knocked down at Hamilton oil Tuesday by a car driven by L. C. Buckingham. Wilson died this morning at the hospital. An inquest was opened to-day and adjourned.
MISHAPS AT WAXGAXUr. WANGANUI, April 2-5
Victims of motor accidents, were admitted to the Wanganui Hospital today. Roy Field, rider of a motor cycle/ which collided with a car, received a broken leg. Thomas Fisher, a passenger in a car which overturned at Hulls through a tyre bursting, received cliest injuries, which were not serious.
OYSKXTRY EPIDEMIC
22 NEW CASES
WELLINGTON. April 2d. Twenty-two new eases of dyseutry ■ ere reported to the Health Departlent on Wednesday. Four are in Liieklnnd : the remainder being in till' V:\ikato and Rotorua districts.
Most of the cases now notified are
old ones, and the Department considers the epidemic has now run its course.
INJURED BY HORSE
DUNEDIN, April 2-5. Christopher Dagg, a married man, was admitted to the Public Hospital to-day suffering from a fractured right ankle, caused by a horse falling on him.
CANOE EATALTTY
AUCKLAND, April 25
A resident of Takapiina, Geoffrey Shaw, aged 16, was drowned when a canvas canoe in which he and another boy wore crossing Lake Pupuke. capsized and sank yesterday afternoon. The other hoy was rescued, hut Shaw’s body lias not yet been recovered.
