THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
THE DOMINION ROADS. California had often been quoted ns the motorists’ paradise said Mr F. W. Furkert, chairman of the Alain Highways Board, at a gathering of motorists, bat he could tell them that they had not as great a lengtji of surfaced mads in California as they had in New Zealand, not by 10,000 miles. The Main Highways Board did not claim that they never made mistakes. The only people who never made mistakes were people who never attempted anything. When they found they had made a mistake they simply set about finding a method to overcome the difficulty. and at all times they attempted to carry on their work, regardless of praise or blame.
