COLLISION WITH TRAM
INQUEST ON VICTIMS

CHRISTCHURCH, April 2.~.
An inquest into the deaths of Robert jieorge Web') lhigg, aged .‘id, single, Alexander (,‘andlish, 40, married, who were killed when a motor cycle they were riding, collided with a Irani in Upawa Road on the evening of April !0. was concluded yesterday. The evidence was that the motor cycle carried no light, and that the men should have had a clear view of the tram for two or three chains. They had been stopped by a constable earlier in the evening for riding witli/•lit a light. The motor-cycle was travelling about 3o miles per hour.
An eye-witness stated that just ''el'ore the crash, the driver appeared to be turning round speaking to the pillion rider.
The coroner, .Mr B. C. Levvy. S.M., found that death was accidental in both cases; adding that the inotbrman of the tram was in no way to blame.
