DIVORCE PUZZLE. MONTREAL, Canada, March 10. Countess Falchi, formerly wife of Lieut.-Colonel Hamilton Gault, who raised Princess Patricia’s Regiment in the war, has withdrawn her action 'to annul her marriage to Count Luigono Gaspero Guiseppe Falchi, the Italian airman. The notice of abandonment of the proceedings was filed in the Superior Court to-day. Countess Falchi, formerly Marguerite Claire Stephens, a member of a prominent Montreal family, married Colonel Gault in 1914 and divorced him in Paris in 1918. Relieving her divorce valid, she married Count Falchi in Paris in 1919. She declared in her petition to annul the marriage that she was subsequently informed by a lawyer that the divorce was invalid, a French court had no jurisdiction. The lawyer advising her that she was still the wife of Colonel Gault, so she asked for annulment of her marriage with Count Falchi. The case has been proceeding in the local courts for some months. The action has now been dropped.
