METHODIST MAORI MISSION

There was a full attendance at the Methodist Church last evening when the Rev. A. J. Seamor and his Maori party conducted the service. The party evidenced the talent amongst them in the singing of a number of hymns, part songs, and united responses. The Chief Tealio-Oterangi I’ilmma gave a very striking address in which he illustrated the Pakoha as coming with two hands. In the right he brought the knowledge of the Christ and the Waitangi Treaty whilst in the left he brought the European vices. He pleaded for the Pakehas to help in saving the remnant of his people from extinction by the spread of the Gospel. The party will give a sacred concert in the Princess Theatre oii Thursday evening next.
