Hon. G. W. Edwards, Conservative member of Parliament for Frontennc, Addington, died to-day 'from a heart attack.

NEWFOUNDLAND POLITICS

Arrangements for the expansion of trade within the Empire were forcasted in a speech from the throne to-day. It announced a treaty agreement was under negotiation with Ottawa and forecasted the appointment of a Trade Commissioner in London, instead of a High Commissioner.

Premier Howard Ferguson of Ontario took special interest in the visit of the Young Australians. He attended two welcoming functions and congratulated Simmons on originating what he described as among the greatest of modern youth movements. John Martin (Minister of Agriculture, Ontario) speaking at Kiwanjs Club reception, declared the Ontario Government was prepared to support a movement for a reciprocal visit of Canadian hoys to Australia. He referred t c> the tour as a most effective contribution to an inter-dominion understanding.
