WEST COAST RUGBY UNION.

The first Executive meeting df the season was held last evening at Greymouth.

The Grey Domain Board wrote re allocation of playing Saturdays on the Recreation Ground, asking this Union to nominate a delegate to meet tho Soccer and League representatives, and it was decided that the Secretary should act.

Westland Sub-Union wrote re school grant, and it was decided to grant both Westland and Inangaliua SubUnions £5 each, provided a statement he prepared as to the mode of expenditure at the end of season ; and also tliat the local Schools Association bo granted £5. It was resolved to order six dozen rule hooks immediately. In reference to a primary school match with a Canterbury team this season, it was resolved to advise the Westland Sub-Union that this was in hand last season, lmt fell through owing to visits of school soccer teams from Canterbury to the Coast last year and the inability of arranging billeting. hut that there should he no difficulty in arranging a visit this season.

The W.C. Cricket Council wrote complaining re the United Club playing a football match during the cricket season, and it was resolved that the letter he handed to' the United Club for an explanation. Eleven players were admitted to the code on their signing the necessary form.

A letter was received from the "Westland Sub-Union re the disqualification for one year of C. Pfnhlert (Kiwis), and, asking that same he lifted. It was decided to ask the Sub-Union to give full particulars of the disqualification and the reason for recommending the lifting of same. In reference to the five-years’ disqualification of J. Griffiths, it was decided to advise the. Sub-Union that at the end of last' season their letter on this was referred hack, asking if J. Griffiths.had been given tlie necessary, notice for an appeal, hut no reply had been received to their communication. It was thoiefore decided that the whole matter be opened up again, and that the SubUnion supply the above information and also full particulars re the disqualification. Tt was resolved to institute a schools competition of two grades of under «* stone and 7 stone, on April Ist. It was resolved that the previous status of a fourth grade player of 1" years on the Ist April he raised to IF years on Ist April.

The President and Mr ,J. T. Clark 1 were appointed to draw up the first round • competition fixtures before next Tuesday evening.

A Postponement Committee of Messrs N. AY. Jones, J. Kyle, and 1. Scott was appointed. it was resolved to ask the lnangahna Sub-Union to appoint a selector for the Selection Committee. The Referees’ Association put in a request for new jerseys, and it was decided to supply six jerseys' and also to pay the Association’s affiliation fee to the X.Z. Referees’ Association.
