SEASON IN FULL SAYING

WELLINGTON, April 15.

The fruit export season is now in full swing, and every day large quantities of apples are arriving at AVellington for transhipment overseas. At present there are about 70,(X)0 cases of apples, mostly from Nelson, in store at ’Wellington, and another 75,000 cases will arrive during this week. The largest shipment of apples this season left Wellington on Saturday morning in the Federal liner Middlesex, which had on board 108,009 cases. Of this shipment 42,000 cases were loaded ’direct at Nelson. The Middlesex will discharge 19,500 cases at Rotterdam, and the balance of 88,500 eases at London.

The Shaw, Savil! and Albion liner Matnroa, which sailed on Saturday for London, took 12.500 boxes of pears, loaded at Wellington, and 8900 cases of apples, loaded at Auckland. The Federal liner Westmoreland, which also sailed on Saturday, took 7500 cases of apples from Wellington, and will load about 25,000 cases at Port Chalmers. To-morrow the Shaw, Savil] and Albion Company’s motor-liner Coptic will sail for London taking about 17,650 cases of apples and 85C0 boxes of pears. During tip* remainder of this month and early in May seven or eight other large shipments of fruit will be made.. The C. and D. liner Port Curtis will take 21,000 cases of apples for Montevideo, and the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer

Rimutaka 31,500 cases for the same port. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Raranga will take 17,000 cases for W’cst of England ports, and the .same company’s Otira 10,009 cases of apples for Montevideo, and 7000 cases of apples and 3000 boxes of pears for Rio de Janeiro. The Shaw, Savill and Albion motor liner Karamea wiil load 32,000 cases of apples at Nelson, and-a'further quantity at Wellington. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor liner Rangitiki will ship 25,500 cases for London. A shipment of 12,01X9 eases of apples for Halifax will be taken by the C. and D. liner Port Darwin, which will load 6000 cases at Wellington and a similar quantity at Auckland.
