ends in acquittal

SYDNEY, April 12
Alfred Ellis, who was charged with the murder of his son, the jockey. Edward Ellis, on .March 13th. was acquitted .
I he Judge, in summing-up, pointed out to the jury that no one considered that Ellis had any intention of killing his son.
Note: The fatality occurred when the mother of Ellis, returning home alter shopping found the father angry at there' having been no meal prepared. The son took the mother’s part, and the father threw a glass, which striking young Ellis, severed bis jugular vein, and be. hied to. death,; whilst the parents ' continued their altercation.
